"...really great... I found it empowering and motivating, feeling like I have a goal to work towards now." Sari Naskinen
What It Is
We have had many requests from students for a system of technique assessments and a personally tailored development plan.
This already existed as part of our accredited courses (click here) so we are now expanding it to include everyone else.
It is open to all dancers, and provides the support they often need.
Why Do It?
There are many reasons why a dancer may need a more personal approach to their dancing. This programme is for you if:
You have no regular teacher in your area or at your level.
You do not have to be on any JWAAD course to join the Personal Development Programme.
How It Works
The plan starts with a 30 minute Technique Review to identify your technique level.
The Assessor will give you:
You will receive a Personal Technique Review Sheet with a summary of the Assessor's suggestions, and a Certificate with your overall dance level.
You can agree a timeframe for your next review or book it when you feel you have progressed and want to see how you are getting on.
In between reviews you can book as many private lessons with JWAAD Assessors or Teachers as you want or need, to speed up your progress.
When you book additional Technique Reviews and your level changes, you will receive an updated Certificate.
How Much Does It Cost
Initial Technique Review: £35 for 30 minutes
Additional Technique Reviews: These are normally done on an ongoing basis as part of a private lesson - there is only an additional charge when your level changes and you request a new certificate. If it's a stand alone review, the charge is the same as for the Initial Technique Review.
You can ask to extend the 30 minutes session to 1 hour in order to have more specific feedback and tuition. There is a fee - check with the Assessor you contact.
Technique Review Days:
You can contact an Assessor (listed below) and book a review at a time suitable to you both. Or, you can attend a Technique Review Day. You still need to book your time slot. Currently planned are the following:
OXFORD - 8th November
