Helwa Dance Company (North East/Scotland)
Originally formed in 2009, Helwa has changed members over the years and currently consists of Egyptian style bellydancers from the North of England and Scotland. The passion for the dance form and development of technical and performance skills have remained the core focus of the troupe. Directed by Kay Taylor, an international bellydance instructor and experienced choreographer, exciting programmes have been showcased at various national events such as the Glasgow Mela Festival and the Alnwick International Music Festival. Kay wrote, directed and narrated the storyline for their last show ‘Belly Dance: A true Story’ designed for the Edinburgh Fringe Festival where is premiered in 2018. The show sold out to great reviews for all 5 nights it was in the Fringe programme. Check out one of the numbers from their show here.
Helwa have worked on something a little bit different for Fantasia. Still celebrating their love of Egyptian dance – and their joy of working and dancing together. Helwa love a good road trip and are looking forward to showcasing their work at Fantasia.

Eastern Roses (Essex)
The Eastern Roses are Sitara’s Professional Bellydance Troupe made up of 8 talented and dedicated dancers that share Sitara’s love and passion for performing. They are renowned for their variety and diversity and are dedicated to providing breathtaking performances to audiences of all sizes. The Eastern Roses have been featured on Sky1’s Got to Dance (2011) show only just missing the opportunity to make it through to the live vote semifinals. Most recently Eastern Roses performance clips were used throughout the first 6 episodes of BGT 2018! Go to their website for more information.
As well as enjoying more traditional and fusion styles of Bellydance they are also known for often escaping into the realms of Fantasy Bellydance to appear as Mermaids, Angels, Leopards, Winged Ravens, Serpentine Creatures, Dark Figures from the Underworld and even as Spacegirls!
Sitara is a professional instructor, choreographer and performer based in Essex who has been teaching and performing belly dance since 2002. Click here for more details on her website.

Banat el Jannah (Paris)
Choreographer and teacher, Raphaelle Masson always comes up with something a little bit different. Banat el Jannah wowed the audience with their 60’s inspired number last year. This year they are working on a full 15 minute set to surprise and delight us. We can’t wait.
Banat El Janah was created 11 years ago by Raphaëlle in Paris and since then, this company has been performing in France, Belgium and several times in London at the Fantasia Festival. Although their dance style is based on Egyptian technique and they do perform Middle Eastern styles, they often end up performing unexpected choreographies on tailored-made music by Beach Bellydance Babylon and sometimes sung by Raphaëlle herself. For her, creativity has (nearly) no limits… and she just wants to share her love of dance and entertain the audience.
